You have probably heard mention of a catalytic converter. The purpose of the catalytic converter is converting CO (Carbon Monoxide) it into CO2 (Carbon Dioxide). The car manufacturers would much rather burn the CO in your catalytic converter instead of making it burn more efficiently in your engine. Why, you may ask? That's a good question that no one seems to be willing to answer!
